this should be bigger if it worked correctly, obviously will have to click to enlarge
as long as you have a split charge for the second battery, it appears fine (from what I can see)!!!
Also...you sure you h-unit has 4 RCA outs??? Or were you going to join some together...because doing the latter causes quite a drop in the voltage from the H-unit, but you can get something which boosts it back up (Vibe sell it) but the only one I have seen has 3 RCA's on it!!!
If you were to make it a 3-amp system instead of 4, you would find it a ****e side easier mate!!!
need 4 mate :D
and the headunit in question is the alpine fold out tv and seperate dvd system as it stand at the minute might not be bothering

naaaaa man!! all you need is a graphic equalizer with 4 or more rca outs i ran 5 amps in ma cav off a single out put head unit! Easy!!!!!
but for cost purposes, it is cheaper to get a voltage booster than a diecent graphic equaliser, but I suppose if your thinking of running 4 or 5 ams, then I guess money is not really an issue!!!
Other options are if your amps have got lines out you aint got a prob RCA wise
BUT...if the system is any good it will have and be run on RCA's!!!
But if the amps WERE going to a standard car stereo (not this case) you need a line-out converter to step down the output to a low-level signal...this is true!

LINE out as in RCA line out so u can input from headunit then use RCA line out to another amp, i wouldnt use high level inputs as there crap

well, ive only really been into wiring for about 2 weeks now as im doin my install this weekend with my m8, but seing as ive had some physics n audio wiring lessons from some ice pro's it looks alll kool from here, just make sure ur posotive and negative feeds from the batery and head unit go oposited sides of the car, (a for neatness and b it stops stuff screwing up and c gives a crisper feed to the amps so i was sold sunday)
dont quote me on it if im wrong tho, but i kno for sure they should be opposite sides
Sounds quite right...not sure if they have to be that far apart though. As long as the wires are not twised (earth and live) round each other and you use good quality cable then im sure its okay. Funnily enough I was talking to the tech man at vibe the other day about this, and I know for them that the cable is thick enough to be okay to run down one side, so im sure any "quality" cabling should be fine. But if you have the amps in the boot then your okay anyways as they are not anywhere near each other as you dont need to run the earth cable to the battery...Thinking of it im sure most systems are run in that way too...
iv done an electricians cours in household wiring (1st year only) and thats how i would have spaced everythin. and no need to worry as this is an ide for somethin that is not a car :D we shall see if it goes ahead first need to source work then i might be scaring you all soon :D
Presume it's for a van.
Important thing is not to run an earth cable from the amps to the battery over a long dstance. If you were to do so and even more so if they were to be seperated, you will get an induction loop. This will cause severe RFI on you amps. Running the earth to a suitable earth point on the car body is much better as it has a screening effect on RFI from the atmosphere.
well if you take into context the amps would be mounted inside the side door and the power coming from the original battery to another battery i can earth pretty much anywhere in the van :D ;)
You'll have to get a split charger for the second battery too so as not to kill your alternator after a system thrash has killed 2 batteries and they both need charging. Wiring wont be easy but it'll be doable.
