Can't believe it, my car should be 50mm lower by now but I can't get the top mount off my struts because I keep snapping the stub off my ratchets! I've now got to find a T40 bit that is in 1/2" fitment instead of 1/4" because I've snapped 3 ratchets today!! bastard! although I've got a nice 28" breakers bar that crack hub nuts with no effort at all lol

lol!!.. im slightly confused whether he means all tools in general.. cuz if thats the case then without them we'd be even more stumped lol!
Tools are only as good as the money you spend on um end of the day!

*drools*
not true. i have split endless amounts of snap on sockets and must have broken my knuckle on my snap on bar about 20 times but i also have a £5.99 breaker bar that finishes the job for the broken snap on bar, i also have a set of cheap halfords sockets(std thin wall) wich i use on a tadger and ive never broke 1.
as for your suspension you must be using plastacene tools if it cant undo a french nut/bolt.

the only real good thing about mac and snap on, you break them you get a replacement the same day, you try that with a halfords guarantee, ( i have) took over 4 weeks to get my spanner back

I had some torq bits to use on the pug and kept breaking, eventually spent 45 quid on a set alone and theyve lasted me to this day, even used on the siezed torsion bar the lot :D
now im sorry but cheap ass tools fair enough they break but halfords tool arent bad at all i know there not everyday mechanic tools but they suit my weekend mechanics quite well and also setting up accounts with snap on and being treated like a tard when the bill comes from them really doesnt interest me!

Monkey's yes i think so 1/4 drive is way too small to do suspension 3/8 may struggle on some things and on old cars with corroded n seized parts 1/2 will only do! halfords stuff i dont rate and i keep breakin snap off crap all the time i find some of the cheep stuff is stronger
halfords tools r gud and i belive there pro stuff cums with a lifetime waranty now 2 it tools from do it all and motormania u wana avoid iv had ratchets that explod under force and screwdrivers that twist
s**t! didnt realise you was trying to undo suspension bolts with 1/4" drive. lol you have more chance of selling a bag of sand to an arab than udoing 8mm or bigger with a 1/4" drive.

Done it, got a 1/2" t40 bit that does the job nicely, but tools are still gay!, I broke my dads breakers bar aswell doing the hub nuts, I mean wtf, the question is just in general, obviously they're not **** as they're essential but some just are ****, I've snapped loads of "supposedly" heavy duty tools before and I admit that the 1/4" was way too small, but it was only used as a counterhold on the damper rods, I've bought more tools this weekend than ever before!, nearly £100s worth just to do the suspension.... so for now tools equal "GAY" until I've finished doing my bits and pieces at which point they will return to the status of "speciality labour saving devices" or "essential super cool looseny/tighteny bits"
