lol, im not 100% sure meself - its kinda like a battery for your ICE, and I know decent installs need one. Apart from that I aint got a clue either, but I know the ICE junkies will be interested.

Capacitors act as a power reservoir, supplying added power to keep your system playing strong when you are putting out major bass etc
A power cap will stop power sag which could occur in deep bass lines, i.e when ur battery cant supply the power that the system is drawing to produce the note, this could lead to loss of power in systems, or missing frequencies. When u get big bass lines andthe battery cant cope this can also lead to lights dipping under the strain. Basically u charge up the cap and its supplys extra power to the system to make sure theres no missing frequncies from the tunes

Could do what the americans do tho and use uprated batterys (lots of them hehe) and a big alternator but these are for monster systems.

Put it this way my mate put a battery off his uncles 911 on his 1.5 diesel AX to power his system LOL, if u put bigger batery on u normally need a bigger alternator. Deep cycle batterys are shit hot but cost a fortune. So far been lucky with the mini ocnsidering on of these caps anyone know where theres a maplins?
