deisel one would be more powerfull i would of thought as a deisel battery is bigger thus needing a bigger charge

Place in Brownhills (moto quip or something like that) do all types of alternators, rebuilds, etc. Go and see them see what they say!

try finding out what a megane alternator runs at?

An a bigger battery might help too.

i.e like the 911 battery stu used to have on the AX

well i've got a bigger battery, which is out of a ford transit, but i think if i replaced that with a deep cycle one and got the alternator replaced or wound up, it would help.

Sounds like alternator mate if u got a big battery on it already, ur ickle clio one probably cant cope with trying to top up that big battery so its not putting out its full potential voltage only a guess mate

ok i've got in touch with a company and i've been told it'll cost between 130 and 150 to get it wound up to around 110 amps, but now would it be worthwile me doin this or gettin a deep cycle optima battery for 170??

Alternator forst mate, as your current one wont be able to re-fill an even bigger battery. What size power cabling you got mate ??

Some advise for members !!

Replace the factory ground wire between the battery and the car chassis with at least a 4-gauge cable. This will help minimize voltage drops caused by high resistance in the stock cable.

Also replace the stock charging wire between the battery and the alternator with at least a 4-gauge cable.

If the alternator has a chassis ground cable, upgrade that wire too. This is relatively inexpensive and should be done for every system 500 watts or higher in total amplifier power.
