I recently purchased a vibe cbr12 active sub. Costin £270 and being vibe i expected it to be mint. It all set up and working, but it doesnt seem to be that gud. It is quite bassy, but not wot i thought it wud be. My m8 listened to it and sed that the cbr10 active was a lot more bassy. My other m8 sed it was my headunit, because it was sony, and didnt have very high voltage pre-outs, he has a pioneer headunit n claims 6v pre-ous, is this the reason do u think or is that sun juts not very powerfull. Also my m8 has a jbl amp not that powerfull ruunning a pioneer sub, its running at about 200rms, and it is louder then myne runnit at way over 300 rms. Help needed plz
does that model come with box and or amp? If not, maybe box is wrong, can wreck sound of a good sub.
and what amp u using? a cheap 700000000 watt amp is probably made to look stupid by a 200 watt expensive amp!
i run a cbr 10 active at the mo and its ace. Obviously nowhere near good enough for my system now, but when i had it it was too much for my system.
The cbr 12 is a damn good sub, best to set the crossover at 3/4 and the gain at about 90%, if you have seperate sub out turn it up about half way, run at least 8 guage wiring, preferably 4 guage, and a power cap. they have a more than capable amp strapped on to them. They are acurate, and precise, running at a true 400W RMS plus.
I wouldn't have paid £270 though. They are going for £199 in halfords and bass junkies. as a £200 complete set they are brill, not quite worth the full £280 list price though
